1 dead in single-vehicle crash on I-26

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Officers with the Charleston Police Department are investigating a fatal crash on Interstate 26.

Police shared information about the fatal single-vehicle crash on X, formerly known as Twitter, shortly after 6:30 p.m

According to police, the accident occurred near Mile Maker 219.

While investigators were on scene, one lane of the highway was closed for just over an hour.

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name.
