2 dead in separate shootings overnight in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS — Separate shootings left two people dead in Indianapolis early Saturday morning.

The first incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the northeast side of Indy in the 2900 block of Schofield Avenue, west of 30th Street and Keystone Avenue.

When IMPD officers arrived at the scene, they found a victim who had been shot and was in critical condition. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, according to a police report.

A few hours later, around 3 a.m., IMPD confirmed that another shooting occurred on Indy’s south side in the 8300 block of Siear Drive, near South Madison Avenue and East Stop 11 Road.

When IMPD officers arrived at the scene, they found a victim who had been shot and pronounced dead.

IMPD did not provide any suspects or further information.
