Child dead after being pulled from swimming pool on Long Island

BAY SHORE (PIX11) – An unconscious child was pulled from a swimming pool in Bay Shore Saturday night, according to Suffolk County police.

The 7-year-old was found at a residence on North Thompson Drive around 8:25 p.m., police said. The child, from Brooklyn, was taken to an area hospital and later pronounced dead, police said.

The police are investigating the incident as it is suspected to be a murder.
