Lexington police continue investigation into death of music promoter

LEXINGTON, SC (WOLO) – Lexington police are continuing their investigation into the death of a man who was killed outside his home in 2022, the LPD said.

Chief Terrence Green again asks anyone with information about Tyler Robinson’s death to come forward and contact investigators.

Two years ago, Tyler Robinson was killed in front of his home in the Lauren Ridge Apartments.

Robinson, also known as “T-Rob” and “T-Rob Smooth,” was a music promoter and co-founder and producer of Long Money Camp.

On July 9, 2022, at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call about a shooting at 500 Carlen Avenue and found Robinson outside in the stairwell of one of the apartment buildings, shot multiple times.

Lexington police said officers rendered aid until emergency medical services arrived and took Robinson to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

During the investigation, investigators found evidence that several unknown individuals were involved in the shooting of Robinson and attacked him shortly after his arrival.
the apartment complex where he had lived for only a few months before his death.

Police believe the incident was planned and Robinson was followed from a club in downtown Columbia.

After the shooting, jewelry and a watch were also stolen from him, Lexington police said.

In addition, his apartment was also robbed.

“It has been two years since Tyler Robinson was killed and I want to let his family, friends and everyone involved in his death know that our Criminal Investigation Division continues to pursue new leads and that this case is still very active. We will not give up and we know that the right person will come forward with the information to solve this murder,” said Chief Green.

Investigators continue to search for several pieces of jewelry and a watch that Tyler Robinson was believed to be wearing when he was killed, including a gold necklace and
Jeweled pendant with the inscription “Smooth” and “LMC,” two jeweled gold rings, one with “$” and the other with “LMC,” and a jeweled gold watch.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about the murder, the people involved, or the whereabouts of the missing jewelry and watch is asked to contact Detective Corporal Kenneth Heath at 803-358-1557 or [email protected].
