Artificial intelligence technology to protect Buffalo Bills stadium

Buffalo, NY. July 2024 – Buffalo Bills games and events at Highmark Stadium are set to benefit from cutting-edge artificial intelligence technology. The move comes as the Orchard Park Fire District, whose surveillance area includes the stadium, prepares to integrate the AI-powered incident command platform, FLORIAN, into its daily operations.

The Orchard Park Fire District, which protects approximately 30,000 residents and key areas including the home of the Buffalo Bills, will use FLORIAN to support its emergency response. The innovative software, developed by award-winning Buffalo-based tech startup 3AM Innovations, is designed to increase on-site safety, streamline incident management processes and provide real-time situational updates. Fire departments in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Arizona and California have already adopted this cutting-edge technology. Today, 3AM Innovations is proud to announce that the Orchard Park Fire District, located just 15 miles from Buffalo, has joined the ranks of those leveraging FLORIAN’s cutting-edge technology and advanced AI capabilities.

Using the power of AI, FLORIAN automatically alerts incident command when triggered by keywords or phrases such as “mayday.” It also offers 3D and satellite mapping, real-time personnel and asset tracking, voice control and transcription, and instant media sharing. With a range of additional features to support incident management, FLORIAN’s intuitive interface helps incident commanders make fast, informed decisions when every second counts.

OPFD had the opportunity to test FLORIAN after winning a three-month trial at the Indianapolis Fire Department Instructors Conference last year. They saw firsthand the many benefits of the technology. One of these was FLORIAN’s Automatic Personnel Location (APL), which allows the incident commander to instantly locate any personnel in real-time and track their route. OPFD noted that this was especially helpful during Buffalo Bills games.

“We founded 3AM in response to tragedy. Our mission is to improve first responder tracking during incidents and revolutionize incident management. Bringing this technology to a fire district in our own region is a huge moment for us,” said Patrick O’Connor, co-founder and president of 3AM Innovations. “The Orchard Park Fire District covers 37 square miles (about the size of Manhattan) of rural and urban landscape, and they have been dedicated to protecting the community for 100 years. It’s an honor to help them keep our friends and neighbors safe.”

The proximity of the Orchard Park Fire District to 3AM Innovations underscores the importance of this partnership. They bring advanced AI solutions to the local community and ensure increased safety and efficiency at the Buffalo Bills stadium and beyond.
