Suspect dead after police shooting in Ohio – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio

MEDINA – A suspect is dead after being shot by police in Ohio Wednesday night.

According to Medina Police Chief Edwin Kinney, a person notified the Medina Sheriff’s Office over an intercom that a woman was causing a disturbance in the parking lot and had a gun.

The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m.

According to preliminary information, the woman was carrying a gun and a knife when officers arrived at the front of the building.

Officers ordered her to drop her weapons, but she did not. An officer fired a weapon, striking the suspect and she succumbed to her injuries, Police Chief Kinney said.

According to CBS affiliate station WOIO in Cleveland, no officers were injured.

The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and the Medina Police Department are investigating.

The suspect has not yet been identified.
