Trailer and release date of the Stan crime drama “Critical Incident”

EXCLUSIVE: Australian psychological crime drama catastrophe will premiere on streamer Stan on August 12th after the Olympics. You can watch an exclusive trailer above and a selection of first images below.

Sarah Bassiuoni’s contemporary crime series is set in the complex world of police work and the consequences for the most vulnerable. The main roles are played by Akshay Khanna (Polite company, The Doll Factory). Zoe Boe (The tree, Total control), Roxie Mohebbi (Shortland Street), Hunter Page-Lochard (The news anchor), Jai Waetford (Neighbors), Jackson Heywood (bloom), Zindzi Okenyo Wolf like me), Simone Kessell (Yellow Jackets) and Erik Thomson (Black snow) also star.

All episodes will be released on August 12th on Nine Entertainment’s streamer Stan. We first told you about it in March.

The show is inspired by the true experiences of creator Bassiuoni, who works as a lawyer in Western Sydney’s youth correctional system. While on patrol searching for a juvenile suspect, Senior Constable Zilifcar “Zil” Ahmed (Khanna) pursues Dalia (Boe), and in the chaos and confusion of the pursuit, a passerby is seriously injured. Zil’s world falls apart when he discovers that Dalia was not, in fact, the perpetrator.

The immense guilt over the bystander’s injuries, coupled with the pressure of investigating the critical incident and public scrutiny, place an unbearable burden on Zil. Encouraged by his brothers in blue, he develops an obsession with framing Dalia.

The series was filmed in the western Sydney areas of Blacktown, Granville, Parramatta and Greenacre and produced by Matchbox Pictures, part of Universal International Studios. Bassiuoni created it with writers Ruth Underwood, Hannah Fitzpatrick and Natasha Henry. by Neil Sharma (Heartache high) and Daniel Nettheim (The tourist, Exercise of duty) are the directors and Bree-Anne Sykes is a producer. Executive producers are Sheila Jayadev and Debbie Lee for Matchbox Pictures and Cailah Scobie and Amanda Duthie for Stan.

The major production investment came from Screen Australia, with Stan and Screen NSW providing financial support. Post-production, digital and visual effects were supported by Screen NSW, and Screen Australia supported development. All3Media International owns international distribution rights and is associate producer.
