UP doctor summoned for alleged sexual harassment of 25-year-old patient

The man, who is also a doctor, is accused of raping the woman in the operating room of the medical facility while she was unconscious, according to police.

According to a PTI report, Patti Circle Collector Anand Kumar Rai identified the accused as the director of Ashish Hospital and Surgical Centre in Dhakwa Bazaar in Aspur Devsara area.

The police officer said Yadav advised the woman, who went to the hospital with her mother, to undergo surgery for a lump in her breast.

The procedure was performed three days ago and she was later discharged, police said, adding that she was called to the hospital on Friday to have her dressings changed.

The doctor took her to the operating room, where he allegedly drugged and raped her, the official told news agency PTI.

The Pratapgarh police have filed a case against the doctor based on a complaint from the woman’s father, Rai added.
