Ongoing police operation leads to closure of West Race Street in Pottsville

Rescue workers have been on site of an ongoing police operation in Pottsville since early Sunday morning.

As of 8:00 a.m. Sunday, West Race Street has been closed from 7th to 10th streets due to an incident in the 800 block of West Race.

City police are on scene along with a state police SERT team, and the Pottsville Fire Department is managing road closures.

The incident has been going on since Sunday, around 4:00 a.m.
