Party on the Portico: Live Music with Damone Jackson Outcome and Diyené at the Buffalo History Museum, July 19!

Get ready for an unforgettable summer evening! The Party on the Portico concert series returns to the Buffalo History Museum on Friday July 19 with Damone Jackson’s Denouement with Diyené.

The Portico Party continues to be a beloved summer tradition in Western New York. This popular event takes place on the museum’s beautiful portico overlooking Delaware Park and Mirror Lake. Enjoy live music from a talented local band, explore the museum’s exhibits, and relax with friends over drinks and snacks (cash bar with complimentary snacks available).

“Party on the Portico is a quintessential Buffalo summer experience,” said Brian Hayden, the museum’s director of communications and community engagement. “Our back porch, which we like to call Buffalo’s favorite back porch, offers one of the best views in the city and is the perfect setting for a concert. Add in live music from local bands selected by Music is Art, cold drinks and access to our museum’s exhibits, and you have all the ingredients for a perfect summer night out on the town with friends.”

Party on the Portico, Buffalo History Museum

Since its founding in 1862, the Buffalo History Museum has been Western New York’s premier historical organization. “Our museum strives to preserve and share the stories of Buffalo and Western New York,” Hayden said. “We showcase our past through interactive exhibits, create dynamic programming that educates and inspires visitors of all ages, and care for a collection of hundreds of thousands of two- and three-dimensional objects that bring our region’s history to life. Buffalo is an extraordinarily historic city, and we love to partner with the community and cultivate an appreciation for that history.”

The July 19 event will feature two bands, Damone Jackson Outcome and Diyené.

Kicking off the night at 6:00 p.m. is Diyené, a rising Buffalo funk-soul-pop band known for their energetic live shows and catchy music with heartfelt lyrics. Led by singer-songwriter Danielle A., the band features a diverse cast of talented musicians. Their motto “Good Music Finds A Way” reflects their belief in the power of music to unite people. You can find them performing all over Buffalo, encouraging the crowd to dance and have a good time.

At 7:00pm, The Damone Jackson Outcome takes the stage. This original improvisational/jazz fusion band based in Buffalo, NY, each show is unique. No one, including the band, knows what sounds will come out!

Party on the Portico is a 21+ event that will take place in all weathers. Tickets are $15 for the general public and $10 for museum members if purchased in advance. Ticket prices will increase by $5 on the day of the event. Tickets can be purchased online at the museum’s website.
