Tow truck driver and man killed in shooting in Roseland

Two men, including a tow truck driver, were killed in a shooting in the far south Roseland area early Wednesday morning.

Around 2:30 a.m., officers responded to calls that a person had been shot in the 11300 block of South Lowe Avenue. They found a 59-year-old tow truck driver and a 45-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds, Chicago police said.

It is unclear what prompted the attack, but police said the men exchanged shots at each other, with the trucker shot in the head dying at the scene while the other man suffered gunshot wounds to his body. He was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he died, police said.

Their names were not immediately released.

The investigators from Area 2 investigated.
