Montgomery County detectives investigate death of three-year-old boy

Child is found in the neighborhood swimming pool.

Gaithersburg, MD (JK) – Detectives with the Montgomery County Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit are investigating the death of a three-year-old that occurred in Rockville.

On Friday, July 5, 2024, at approximately 11:44 p.m., the Montgomery County Emergency Services Center received a call about a missing boy. Rockville City Police responded to the call to Elmcroft Court, where the child was found at the neighborhood swimming pool.

Rockville city officials performed CPR on the boy and transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Montgomery County Police Detectives have been notified and the investigation is ongoing. No foul play is suspected.

The child’s name is not being released by MCPD.
