Little Rock fire chief dies in off-duty car crash

LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas – On Sunday afternoon, the Little Rock Fire Department announced the death of Captain Robert Hild, who passed away overnight after being involved in an off-duty car accident.

According to reports, Captain Hild and his wife Amanda were in their vehicle shortly after midnight on July 7 when they were involved in a car accident on Arkansas Highway 365 in Maumelle.

There is currently no information about the wife’s condition.

Fire officials said Captain Hild was with the Little Rock Fire Department for more than two decades and was assigned to Fire Station No. 9. He is survived by his wife and five children.

The Arkansas State Police is currently investigating the cause of the accident.
