Gwinnett shooting suspect arrested after local police arrest him – Your Local News

The City of Monroe Police Department reported the following incidents for the period June 20-27, 2024. Due to length, this report has been split into five parts. This is the final part. Please note that an arrest or indictment does not necessarily constitute a conviction.

  • Civil Dispute – N. Broad St. – Plaintiff was upset with the Valero gas station because he did not receive the amount of gas he paid for. Valero personnel informed him that they had refunded him for the gas he did not receive. The incident is civil in nature.
  • Walker Dr: Male offender stopped on the roadway on a minibike. He was found to be in possession of a stolen firearm and marijuana. He was arrested and transported to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Firearm – W Spring St & KFC – In reference to the complainant’s statement that a white male was walking down the street brandishing a handgun. The area was checked and no contact was made with anyone.
  • Suspicious Person – Pannall Rd. – Regarding the individual on site living in a shed on the property. Contact was made with the property owner who stated they did not have permission to be there. The individual was criminally evicted from the property and given a free ride to the Monroe Motor Inn. All OK.
  • Lost Item – Stone Creek Ct – Regarding plaintiff’s statement that she lost her phone at Dollar General. Plaintiff advised that the phone beeped at the corner of Alcovy St and Walker Dr. The phone was located and returned to plaintiff.
  • Welfare Control) N Broad St Card Station – In reference to a name that went to the Card Station three hours prior and did not return home. He was not at the Card Station. WCSO was informed that the vehicle he may have been driving struck FLOCK on HWY 78 at 1850 and was asked to check the area.
  • (Dispute) Nowell St – In reference to a third party call regarding a dispute at the residence. Contact made with the couple who advised they had been arguing verbally. There was no sign of a physical altercation. Both parties were advised of remedial action. Report taken.
  • Domestic Dispute – St. Ives Walk – Regarding a dispute between a male and female subject. The female subject was taken into custody for simple assault for striking the male in the face. She was transported to MPD for fingerprinting and then to WCSO.
  • Hit and Run – Church Street/South Hammond: A gray passenger vehicle collided with the victim and left the scene of the accident.
  • Argument – ​​Rose Ison Ter – Reference to the ex-girlfriend’s refusal to give the plaintiff his belongings. The officers stood by while the plaintiff retrieved his belongings from the apartment.
  • Dispute – Walton Truck Stop – Regarding a truck driver who was disrespectful to staff and refused to pay for parking. The driver was gone when officers arrived.
  • Threats – In regards to a female subject who stated she was overwhelmed and did not want to live anymore. The subject agreed to seek help and was transported to Advantage in Athens without incident.
  • Broken down vehicle – Alcovy St / Glenwood Dr – Truck with trailer broken down on the road. Vehicle was towed off the road by a third party. All OK.
  • Warrant Attempt – Baron Drive, officers responded to the area to locate a named individual. He was observed in the rear yard of the residence with a group of males and attempted to flee into the residence when they noticed officers. He was given verbal commands to remain stationary but attempted to flee through the residence and out the front door. He was arrested inside the residence and taken into custody.
  • EMS Assistance – Ridge Rd; Skyline Trace – In reference to a named male subject who reported observing a deceased male subject in the area of ​​Skyline Trace. He advised that he had left the area but was on his way back to show officers where it was located. The area was searched on foot with no contact noted with anyone including the complainant. All appeared to be in order.
  • Suspicious Person – S Madison Ave at 5th Street. A male offender was pushing a lawn mower along the sidewalk. The offender was contacted to ensure the mower was not stolen. During the investigation, permission was granted to search his bag. Several items of paraphernalia were discovered, including meth and a pipe. He was arrested for possession of meth and drug related items.
  • Dispute – Perry St.; – Relating to a verbal dispute between two parties. Remedial action was advised to those affected. Report prepared.
  • Assisting agency – Highway 138 and W Spring, Gwinnett County BOLO of two shooting suspects in a red Honda Fit. WCSO and MPD located the vehicle on Highway 138 and conducted a felony stop. Gwinnett County Police were contacted and the vehicle and suspects were turned over to their custody. Use of force completed.
  • Dispute – Millstone Bluff; Complainant stated she had an argument with her boyfriend at Cocina Fuentes. Complainant stated the argument was due to relationship issues and that the male offender slammed her into a car, dragged her across concrete, and took her phone. Report taken, corrected, case number provided. Arrest warrant issued for male offender for assault.
  • Domestic Dispute – Hwy 138, Great Oaks Senior Living – Regarding a male offender on location arguing with the complainant. The offender resisted arrest while the officer detained him. He was taken to the ground and taken into custody. Warrants are issued for obstruction and stalking.
  • Search Warrant – Parkway Pl – Male suspect taken into custody on an outstanding warrant and a search warrant obtained for the residence. Scene turned over to Criminal Investigation.
  • Agency Assistance – W Fambrough St – Assistance in contacting the homeowners to issue tickets. The occupants of the home refused to open the door
  • Family Dispute – Tanglewood Dr. – In regards to 15 year old plaintiff who called because her mother was arguing with her. Remedial action recommended.
  • Theft Report – 3rd St. – Plaintiff ordered 3 cell phones from T-Mobile and one cell phone was missing. He wanted to document the incident.
  • Harassment – ​​Creek View Dr. – Reported that the complainant discovered a camera mounted on a tree pointing into her back yard. The camera was removed and discarded.
  • Dispute – N Midland Ave – Plaintiff called because a neighbor was dumping trash in his yard, an ongoing problem. Civil action recommended.
  • Attempted Warrant – Perry St. – Attempt to serve a warrant for a named individual. Individual was located and arrested.
  • Suspicious Vehicle – Forest St. – Call regarding a silver SUV with Florida registration driving down Forest St. several times. Area check, but the vehicle was gone when officers arrived.
  • Traffic Light Out – Pavilion Pkwy: Regarding the out traffic light. DOT and Monroe Power informed.
  • Arrest Warrant – Birch St. – A female subject was observed driving her vehicle and turning into the driveway of her residence. The subject was taken into custody for Assault and transported to the Walton County Jail.
  • Youth complaint – Roosevelt Street – Regarding youths throwing stones. Contact made with all adults and youths; mediation resources utilized.
  • Assault – W Spring St; Piedmont-Walton. Referred to WCSO in reference to a female assaulted in the district.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest – Charlotte Rowell / 78 Driveway – Suspect arrested and charged with driving without a license and traffic signal violation. Fingerprinted and released by Monroe Police. Vehicle impounded from Taylor’s.
  • Traffic Stop/Arrest – MLK Blvd/Marathon – Vehicle was stopped for equipment violation. A probable cause search located approximately 6 pounds of marijuana. Both the driver and passenger were arrested for PWID. Vehicle was towed by Taylors.
  • Dispute – GW Carver – 13 year old was locked out of her home by her guardian. Report taken and forwarded to DFACS.
  • Traffic stop – Highway 138 at the city limits – a black Kia Sportage was impounded for revoked registration and no insurance. Report taken and two tickets issued to the woman involved.
  • Commercial Burglary – W. Spring Street (Cricket) – Front door was forced open with a tool, alarm system was broken and ripped off the wall, all iPhones on display were missing, they appeared to be in a lockable box on the building where all new phones are kept. Complainant stated there appeared to be two masked male subjects wearing hoodies, possibly black hoodies and one had writing on it. The other had markings or writing on his left sleeve. CID was notified of the incident. Det. Lewis was the detective on duty. A check of the area was conducted at approximately 12:24 a.m. and the complaint stated that security cameras showed subjects entering at approximately 12:53 a.m. and exiting through the back door at approximately 1:00 a.m.
  • Disturbance – Douglas St.: In reference to complainant’s reference to his neighbors continually harassing him with lasers and flashlights and taking video recordings. No video surveillance was found upon arrival. Remedial action recommended.
