Woman missing after last seen in southeast Houston

Angela Marisol Diaz was last seen in southeast Houston on Monday and has not been heard from by her family since.

HOUSTON — A Houston family is worried about their missing loved one after she hasn’t been seen in several days.

Relatives of the victim are searching for Angela Marisol Diaz, 22, who was last seen at 4:40 a.m. Monday near the Moonlight Inn & Suites on the Gulf Freeway. She was wearing a red dress.

Family members said they received conflicting reports about Diaz’s last known whereabouts. Although she was last seen near the hotel, her cellphone was reported at a location in another part of town.

It’s been difficult for the Diaz family.

“I know it’s the Fourth of July and people are celebrating or being with their families, but we miss our family,” Angela’s mother, Yesenia Diaz, told KHOU 11 News.

Family members said they last spoke to Angela on Sunday and there did not appear to be anything wrong.

“She never goes a day without calling us,” said Angela’s father, Edward Diaz.

According to family members, Angela’s boyfriend last saw her Monday at the Moonlight Inn & Suites. He told family members that Diaz was going to meet another man. Diaz’s family tracked down that person.

“When I called, I asked about my daughter. He first told me he didn’t know her, then he said, ‘Yeah, I dropped her off at Telephone Road.’ I said, ‘Well, at 4 a.m., her phone says she’s not online.’ He just insulted me and hung up,” Edward Diaz said.

Angela’s phone was traced to a shopping center on the East Freeway near Federal Road. Flyers have since been posted in the area. The family filed a complaint with the Houston Police Department.

“Please help us look for her, help the police and everyone come see her,” Yesenia Diaz said.

Anyone with information on Angela’s whereabouts is asked to call HPD.
