Man dies in pedestrian accident in Greenback Lane (Orangevale)

Pedestrian hit and killed by car on Greenback Lane in Orangevale

ORANGEVALE, CA (July 2, 2024) – A man died in a pedestrian accident at the corner of Greenback Lane and Hazel Avenue.

The fatal pedestrian crash occurred around 7:50 a.m. on Monday. For an unknown reason, the male pedestrian was standing in the median of Hazel Avenue. A woman driving a southbound Ford Fusion then drove through the intersection of Greenback Lane and struck the man.

Paramedics arrived shortly afterwards and took the man to hospital, where he died. His name was not released.

After the accident, the California Highway Patrol interviewed the driver, who they said was not impaired at the time of the accident. However, unclear details are still being investigated.
