1 dead and 1 injured in double shooting in Little Haiti

MIAMI – Authorities in Miami-Dade County are investigating a double shooting.

Miami police were called to the area around 180 Northwest 52nd Street in the Little Haiti neighborhood shortly before 7 p.m. on Monday.

Officers focused primarily on a black car parked on the street.

According to police, two young men were found shot and taken to hospital in critical condition. One of them has since died, authorities said.

During their investigation, police cordoned off several blocks around the crime scene.

According to a Local 10 News source, the shooting may be related to a shooting that occurred earlier in the day in Liberty City.

There were several bullet holes in the front of a black SUV.

One of the victims was identified by family members as 20-year-old Treyshawn Wright.

Local 10 News has learned that the shooting was a gang-related incident, but police have not yet confirmed this.

There is no information on whether any arrests have been made or whether officers are looking for suspects or suspicious persons.

According to police, three people were arrested as possible witnesses but not as suspects.
