Suspect arrested in connection with Harford Mall shooting

A suspect wanted in a shooting at the Harford Mall in Bel Air nearly a month ago was arrested Sunday, the Harford County Sheriff’s Office said.

A 42-year-old man who was shot in the leg and hand at a mall was flown by helicopter to a hospital and listed in stable condition on June 2. Using digital and physical surveillance, police tracked the suspect to a hotel room in Anne Arundel County, where he was arrested around 1 p.m. Sunday and taken into custody by Bel Air police, according to the sheriff’s office.

The suspect was identified by police as Wesley Larry Lyons, 35, of Edgewood. He is charged with three felonies – attempted first- and second-degree murder and first-degree assault. Two women who accompanied Lyons during the shooting were arrested earlier this month and charged with aiding and abetting attempted first-degree murder.
