Shooting in Goldsboro | 17-year-old man arrested in connection with shooting at Food Lion in Goldsboro

GOLDSBORO, N.C. (WTVD) – An arrest was made Thursday evening in connection with a shooting at a Food Lion in Goldsboro earlier this month.

According to police, 18-year-old Javon Langston of Goldsboro was shot near the entrance of the grocery store. He later died of his injuries.

According to authorities, a preliminary investigation revealed that Langston was involved in an argument with another man before the shooting.

Later, a petition was filed for the murder of a minor suspect.

Shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday, the Goldsboro Police Department’s Emergency Response Team, Investigation, Patrol, Police Canine and NCSBI teams arrested the 17-year-old man in the 300 block of Myers Avenue.

The juvenile’s name is not being released due to his age. He was taken to the Pitt County Detention Center and placed in secure custody.
