Gordon Ramsay reveals ‘brutal’ injury in near-fatal bike crash

Gordan Ramsay shocked his fans by showing the bruises he sustained in a “really bad” cycling accident.

The popular chef used his TikTok account to stress the importance of always wearing a helmet when cycling, describing his own recent accident.

Ramsay said he had an accident while cycling in Connecticut that left him “really shaken” and “lucky” to be alive.

Although he has not yet said exactly how the accident occurred or if anyone else was involved, Ramsay showed off the bruising he sustained – the entire left side of his stomach is now a dark purple hue.

Ramsay thanked “all the doctors, nurses and staff” who cared for him at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London, calling them “incredible” and “amazing.”

“I’m lucky to be standing here,” Ramsay said, admitting he was still “in pain” after the “brutal” week he’s had.

He described himself as “a bit bruised and looking like a purple potato.” Onlookers were amazed at the chef’s injuries as he pulled up his white double-breasted jacket.

“I was NOT expecting that bruise,” one person commented, while others called Ramsay’s description of the bruise “wild.” Another viewer wrote: “The guy doesn’t have a bruise, the bruise has a Gordon Ramsay. For God’s sake!”

Fans wished Ramsay a speedy recovery and expressed their concern for the chef, with many pointing out that despite the severe bruising on his side, Ramsay’s head appeared to be unscathed – supporting the message he powerfully expressed in his TikTok.

“But honestly, you have to wear a helmet. I don’t care how short the ride is, I don’t care that these helmets cost money, but they are essential.”

And it seems the urgency of Ramsay’s message is already having an effect, with one viewer writing: “I’m a cyclist. I never wear a helmet. I will heed your warning and wear my helmet from now on. Thank you.”
