Sonic now sells giant popcorn chicken that you can toss in Buffalo or barbecue sauce

It’s no secret that Sonic is the king of cool fast food combos. (Remember how great it was when Chili Cheese Tots launched?!) Now the chain is here with two new popcorn chicken dishes, and it’s hard to decide which one to try first.

Sonic just launched a new giant popcorn chicken in sauce, with the option to choose between honey barbecue sauces and buffalo sauces. The news comes from Chewboom, and we also spotted it on a Facebook post from a Sonic in Coweta, OK, and a few other Sonic locations around the country.

There aren’t many details on these new dishes at the moment, but we do know that they’re made from 100% white meat chicken and are basically your standard giant popcorn chicken covered in sauce. In case you’re unfamiliar with giant popcorn chicken, it’s basically a cooler form of chicken nugget, and it usually comes with your choice of dipping sauce (buttermilk ranch, honey mustard or hickory barbecue). But when they come in sauce…they kind of become a boneless wing.

With Sauced Giant Popcorn Chicken, you can forget about opening a whole sauce packet and having to dip each individual piece of popcorn chicken: Sonic saves you a step, and it’s a pure genius.

The Giant Sauced Popcorn Chicken has yet to make it to the official Sonic Online menu, so it’s hard to say if it will be rolling out to all Sonic locations or just select locations.
