Investigation on Erick Road in Mansfield, Massachusetts – NBC Boston

A person suspected of shooting someone outside the public safety building in Mansfield, Massachusetts, was taken into custody Friday evening, police said Saturday.

The investigation began when someone entered the lobby of the city’s public safety building and said he was shot at while trying to drive into the parking lot, according to Mansfield police. An officer who was outside also said he heard the shot.

Investigators identified a possible suspect and a vehicle they found in front of a home on Erick Road.

MetroLEC’s Special Tactics and Response Unit, including crisis negotiators, were called to attempt to speak with the individual inside the home. After investigators were issued a search warrant, crisis negotiators were able to convince the individual to surrender without further incident.
