Temperatures expected to exceed 38 degrees on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

BUTLER COUNTY (WXIX) – The FOX19 weather team says Sunday is expected to be the first 90° day of the year. Based on the current forecast, heat advisories are expected next week.

The combination of heat and humidity will result in heat indexes between 100 and 105 degrees on Monday and around 100 degrees Tuesday through Thursday. Wednesday could be an Extreme Heat Warning day, with a heat index of 105°. As a result, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will be First Alert Weather Days.

Emergency officials in Butler County announced that several locations have been declared cooling centers due to temperatures exceeding 90 degrees starting Sunday.

Heat safety tips

The Butler County EMA recommends following these safety tips:

  • Drink enough
  • Wear light, loose-fitting clothing
  • When working outdoors, take frequent breaks in the shade
  • Check those without air conditioning
