‘Bridgerton’ star Ruby Barker hospitalized after horror accident

Bridgerton’s Ruby Barker was hospitalized this week after a bouldering accident.

Barker, who played Marina Thompson in Netflix’s Regency-era series, posted a video on Instagram yesterday (April 4) capturing a fall.

“Are you all right? This is what happened,” she wrote.

Barker later posted two more social media uploads documenting her time on the road to recovery. She wrote alongside a series of photos: “Love Gas & Air (laughing emoji) apparently I didn’t want to return it but have no memory of it lol.”

Barker confirmed in the comments of her video that she unfortunately broke her arm in the fall. In another post, she also thanked “D&M” the climbing facility for their help after the accident and wrote: “We love first aiders.”

Bouldering differs from other types of indoor climbing in that no ropes or harnesses are used, only padded fall mats are present to cushion potential falls.

It is generally performed on walls of lower height and will again be part of the competitive climbing competition at the Olympics later this year.

Barker spoke exclusively Digital spy Late last year while promoting Breaking Through with Zeze Millz. In our conversation, the star explained why she “probably” won’t return to the world of Bridgerton after two seasons.

“I wouldn’t go back to Bridgerton because A) it wouldn’t be my choice and B) when I did Bridgerton – obviously it’s common knowledge and stuff like that – I was having a mental health crisis,” she explains.

“While I was having the most amazing and important experience of my professional life, my health was deteriorating so much, so quickly.”

She continued: “It wasn’t just a manageable bout of, I don’t know, depression or anxiety or something like that. I was really, really unwell and I couldn’t cope with it. And, you know, that’s why I would.” I’m not going back to Bridgerton.

“Also, Marina, my character on this show, is really struggling with her mental health. That’s her storyline.”

Bridgerton Seasons 1 and 2 are now also streaming on Netflix Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. The third season premieres in two parts, on May 16th and June 13th.
