Matt Bomer claims he lost the Superman role because of his sexuality

The “Magic Mike” actor believes he didn’t get the role of the Man of Steel in the canceled 2003 superhero film “Superman: Flyby” because of his sexuality. Bomer said on the Hollywood Reporter’s “Awards Chatter” podcast: “It looked like I was the director’s choice for the role. I signed a three-picture deal with Warner Bros.,” Matt Bomer / Awards Chatter. When asked if his sexual orientation influenced his casting, the “White Collar” star replied: “Yeah, that’s my understanding. That was a time in the industry when that kind of thing could still really be used as a weapon against you. How, why and who (outed me), I don’t know,” Matt Bomer / Awards Chatter.
