Houston ranger posts bond after being accused of forcing man to strip

HOUSTON (KIAH) — The Houston park ranger accused of targeting gay men to rob them made his first court appearance Wednesday morning.

Joey Ellis is charged with official oppression and posted his bond, which was $33,000.


Houston Parks and Rec says Ellis has been removed from the work schedule and “appropriate action is being taken.”

Ellis, 33, was arraigned Wednesday after being charged with official oppression. The accused victim said Ellis forced him to strip and helped round up gay men on a dating app to do the same thing, according to our news partners.
