Coroner called to Lancaster Hotel

According to police, the man died after a fall

Police said a man died after falling into a hole at the Holiday Inn in downtown Lancaster. Just before 3 p.m. Sunday, the Lancaster Fire Department was called to a Level 1 fall rescue involving an employee of the hotel. According to police, employees discovered an unconscious male victim. Police added that a steel grate was believed to have been temporarily removed for maintenance, causing the employee to fall into the exposed hole. Despite quick response and life-saving measures by first responders, the victim could not be revived. The incident is currently under investigation.

Just before 3 p.m. on Sunday, Lancaster Fire Department was called to a Level 1 fall involving a hotel employee.

According to police, employees discovered an unconscious male victim.

Police added that a steel grate was probably temporarily removed for maintenance work, causing the employee to fall into the exposed hole.

Despite the quick reaction and life-saving measures of the first responders, the victim could not be resuscitated.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
