Summer weather returns next week

JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) – Tonight: The rest of Saturday night will be quiet as temperatures remain slightly above average, only dropping to just above 20 degrees. Humidity will also remain consistent, making for a muggy start to Sunday.

Sunday: You won’t need the rain gear for the most part on Sunday, but humidity will rise again. Temperatures will be just above 90 degrees again, but Sunday afternoon may feel more like 90 degrees or triple digits. Most of us will stay dry Sunday night, but parts of northern Mississippi could see a few showers late Sunday night. The next chance for more widespread showers won’t be until the end of the weekend.

Extended Forecast: A summery weather pattern will settle in for next week as several waves of scattered rain showers will arrive starting Monday. Temperatures are expected to be in the 30s to 35s in the afternoon, with the possibility of scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. At this point, these storms do not appear to be severe, but we will continue to update you as they do. The tropics are also quiet for now.
