FARGO – A Fargo man has been arrested as part of a Fargo Police investigation into a domestic homicide.

At approximately 11:48 a.m. Saturday, police were called to a domestic dispute in the 3100 block of 33rd Street South in Fargo, a police department news release said.

When police entered the home, they discovered a dead woman. Police said the woman’s identity would be released within a day after the family was notified.

Randall Duffy, a 61-year-old Fargo man, was arrested and charged with murder. Police said Duffy and the woman knew each other and there was no known threat to public safety.

Duffy is currently in custody at the Cass County Jail.

Jail records list the charge as a Class AA felony, which carries a maximum sentence of life without parole. Duffy has not yet been charged in court.

Police said the investigation was still ongoing.

Our newsroom occasionally reports under the name “Staff.” The “Staff” name is often used when rewriting basic news briefs from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure that requires little or no reporting. Sometimes this name is used when a story has multiple authors or when the story consists of compiling previously reported news from various sources. When outside sources are used, this is noted in the story.
