LINCOLN, Nebraska (KLKN) – A hookah bar in downtown Lincoln is temporarily losing its liquor license following a fatal shooting earlier this year.

The Nebraska Liquor Control Commission voted Tuesday to suspend the Royal Hookah Bar & Lounge’s liquor license for 60 days.

The store, located near the corner of 16th and O Streets, was also forced to close at 1 a.m. and is no longer allowed to host events outside of business hours.

The Alcohol Commission said that in the event of any violations, a further hearing would be scheduled.

On April 7, 32-year-old Gregory Little Jr. was shot and killed by a security guard outside the bar, Lincoln police said.

Lancaster County District Attorney Pat Condon announced last week that no charges would be filed in the shooting.

In a press release, Condon said the security officer’s actions were “justified under all circumstances.”
