18-year-old arrested after fatal shooting in Sheraden – WPXI

PITTSBURGH – A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in the city’s Sheraden neighborhood.

Malachi Smith, 18, was arrested for the shooting of a man on May 31 in the 600 block of Sherwood Avenue, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.

At around 10 p.m., officers were called there because of three ShotSpotter alarms with a total of 17 shots fired.

They found a man lying in the grass with gunshot wounds to the chest and leg. Paramedics treated him at the scene and took him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Smith is charged with voluntary manslaughter and illegal carrying of a firearm.
