First weather warning: Sunday showers before the beginning of next week

ROCHESTER, NY — Sunday morning will start out cloudy but pleasant. Temperatures Sunday morning will be around 15 degrees, eventually reaching the mid to low 21 degrees Sunday afternoon, but the clouds will give way to a few showers.

There will be no showers on Sunday, but a few showers are possible in the afternoon. Rain chances increase just before noon and continue into early Sunday evenings. The greatest chance of rain will be between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Sunday. A few showers will continue into early Sunday evenings before we try to clear up by Monday morning.

Monday will see a mix of sun and clouds, with highs again rising to just above 80 degrees Fahrenheit. There may be isolated thunderstorms in the Finger Lakes, but most will remain dry. Tuesday will continue to be hot, with highs just above 80 degrees Fahrenheit, and another isolated thunderstorm possible in the Finger Lakes in the afternoon.

It will remain hot and humid through Wednesday, and as a cold front approaches, some thunderstorms will develop in the afternoon. A cold front will pass through on Thursday, bringing cooler temperatures to the end of the week. The front will keep things unsettled through next weekend.
