Worker dies after road construction accident in Tippecanoe County

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Indiana – One person was killed in an accident at a road construction site Friday.

According to a press release, Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s officers were called to the area of ​​U.S. Highway 231 South and County Road 800 South at approximately 12:04 p.m. after receiving a report of a person struck by a car. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a person with life-threatening injuries.


The person was later transported to IU Health Arnett Hospital. The worker died while being treated in the hospital’s emergency room, according to TCSO.

After investigating the incident, officers determined that the driver of a 2005 Mack dump truck struck the worker. The exact circumstances that led to the man’s death are still being investigated by police.

The identity of the deceased will be released by the Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office after the family has been properly notified of the deceased’s death.
