Ville Platte man arrested for attempted murder

VILLE PLATTE, Louisiana (KLFY) – A Ville Platte man is charged with attempted first-degree murder in connection with a May 13 shooting.

Representatives of the Evangeline Community 25-year-old Bryson Fontenot was arrested in connection with the shooting.

The shooting occurred on Chatagnier Road near the Dollar General. Authorities say the suspect shot Lee Larnette of Ville Platte. Authorities say the suspect shot the victim twice from inside a gray SUV. Lee is currently recovering from his injuries.

On Tuesday, Fontenot was charged with attempted first-degree murder. His bail is set at $500,000.

The investigation is ongoing and the public is asked to contact the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office at 337-363-2161 with any new information regarding this shooting.
