East Cobb Traffic Report: Lane closures for Shallowford-Wesley Chapel on Wednesday

The Cobb government sent the following message late Tuesday afternoon:

“A utility installation at the south corner of Shallowford Road and Wesley Chapel Road will result in significant lane closures on Wednesday. 29 May. This project will involve the construction of a large freestanding concrete pole that will replace three wooden poles, one of which is located on the south corner of the intersection. This wooden pole has been hit several times and for safety reasons, the Cobb Department of Transportation and Georgia Power Company will jointly fund this project.

“Lane closures will begin at 6am on Wednesday and will last until 6pm. The northbound lane on Wesley Chapel Road will be closed and northbound traffic will be diverted to the southbound left turn lane on Wesley Chapel Road. Southbound traffic will be diverted to the southbound right turn lane on Wesley Chapel Road. Three lanes will be closed on Shallowford Road, namely the two northbound lanes and the centre left turn lane in both directions.”
