Former Quakertown man sent to prison for repeatedly raping two girls

DOYLESTOWN, PA — A Bucks County judge has sentenced a 60-year-old man to 18 ½ to 47 years in prison
Years in state prison for repeatedly raping and sexually assaulting two girls in a Quakertown home.

Matias J. Martinez Morales, formerly of Quakertown, was found guilty by a Bucks County jury in late January on one count each of rape by use of force, rape of a child, indecent touching of a person by use of force, terroristic threatening, two counts each of unlawful contact with a minor, indecent touching of a person under 13 and enticement of a minor.

Judge Jeffrey L. Finley of Common Pleas Court announced the prison sentence on Tuesday, May 28. He also sentenced Martinez Morales to five years of probation and ordered that Martinez Morales have no contact with the victims.

The Pennsylvania State Sexual Offenders Assessment Board concluded that although Martinez Morales did not meet the criteria to be classified as a sexually violent offender, he would still have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

The Quakertown County Police Department launched an investigation in November after Detective Ryan Naugle received a report from Child Protective Services indicating that a 16-year-old girl had been raped by an adult man when she was four years old.

During a forensic interview conducted by the Child Advocacy Center, the victim reported that Matias Martinez Morales raped her several times and threatened to kill her and her family if she told anyone. A second victim was interviewed by the Child Advocacy Center and reported that
At the age of six, she was sexually abused several times by Martinez Morales.

The case was investigated by Quakertown Borough Police Detective Ryan Naugle and prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney and Chief of the Child Abuse Unit Matt Lannetti.
