Driver in critical condition after accident on the northwest side

A 56-year-old driver traveling at high speed on the northbound lane reportedly lost control of his vehicle.

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio police say a 56-year-old driver is in critical condition after a single-vehicle crash occurred Sunday afternoon in the 7600 block of Bandera Road on the Northwest Side.

A SAPD spokesman said witnesses observed a driver speeding in the northbound lanes and then losing control of his vehicle.

The vehicle is said to have driven over a guardrail and rolled over several times.

The emergency services arrived on the scene and the driver was taken to the university hospital in critical condition.
