1 dead in speeding accident in Briargate

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KKTV) – A fatal crash in Colorado Springs is under investigation.

Around 9 p.m. Saturday, Colorado Springs police responded to a two-car crash at Briargate and Chapel Hills. According to police, one car was traveling eastbound on Briargate while another westbound car was attempting to turn left onto south Chapel Hills when they collided at the intersection.

Both drivers were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, one died. According to witness statements, the police believe that speed played a role in this accident.
