Clearwater police are searching for two men who beat a teenager and stole a bicycle

The men followed the teen for a few blocks after his bike nearly rammed their SUV.

CLEARWATER, Fla. – Police are searching for two men who allegedly beat a teenager and stole his bike after a near-collision in Clearwater earlier this month.

According to a press release from Clearwater Police, it happened just before 7 p.m. on May 1 at Fort Harrison Avenue and Chestnut Street when the teen nearly hit a gray Nissan SUV in a gas station parking lot.

Cell phone video from May 1 shows two men, a black bicycle and the SUV parked on a sidewalk near Hamlet Avenue and Belleview Boulevard after police said the SUV’s driver chased the teenager a few blocks followed for a long time.

Authorities said the man – who appeared to be bald, wore a black shirt and jeans and appeared to have arm and neck tattoos – jumped from the passenger seat of the SUV and threw the teenager to the ground.

The driver of the SUV, who looks like a security guard, with salt and pepper colored hair and glasses, can be seen walking towards the passenger, who appears to repeatedly hit the teenager.

A man had gray hair, wore glasses and appeared to be wearing a security uniform. The other man was bald and had tattoos all over his arm and possibly his neck. They were in a gray Nissan SUV. Eventually, the passenger emerged from the bushes, stood on the side of the road for a few seconds and continued to beat the teenager while the man in the security uniform hovered over him.

The video ended with both men walking back to the SUV.
