SHREVEPORT, LA – Armed suspect arrested after high-speed police pursuit

On May 10, Shreveport police officers pursued a vehicle at the intersection of Linwood Avenue and Wallace Road. The driver was identified as 44 years old Erick Griffin’sdefied orders to stop, sparking a chase through city streets.

During the pursuit, the driver threw a firearm from the vehicle, further endangering public safety. The discarded weapon, later recovered, was further evidence of the potential violence of the situation.

The pursuit concluded in the 600 block of Argyle where officers successfully arrested the suspect, Erick Griffins. Griffins now faces a variety of charges including aggravated fleeing from officers, aggravated criminal damage, possession with intent to distribute certain narcotics, possession with intent to distribute Schedule 1 narcotics, illegal use of a weapon, illegal carrying of weapons and resisting upon arrest.

The Shreveport Police Department commends the quick and decisive actions of its officers in ending this dangerous situation, prioritizing public safety above all else.

Suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
