PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, Mich – A 21-year-old from Canton Township was among two people killed in a two-car rollover on a highway in Plymouth Township.

The accident occurred at 3:20 a.m. Sunday, May 12, 2024, on northbound I-275 near Ann Arbor Trail.

Michigan State Police officials said a 46-year-old woman from Jasper, Michigan, was driving a Ford Edge south on I-275 and lost control.

The SUV crossed the median and drove up the embankment into the northbound lanes of the highway. It overturned and was struck by a northbound Buick LaCrosse, police said.

The driver of the Buick suffered minor injuries, officials said.

Police closed I-275 during the investigation. They said it is not yet known why the Edge left the southbound lanes.
