Happy Mother’s Day, First Alert Weather Team Watches Rain for the Work Week – Action News Jax

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Action News Jax’s First Alert Weather Team says Mother’s Day will be beautiful, but rain is on the horizon for the work week.

First Alert meteorologist Trevor Gibbs says temperatures before sunrise Sunday ranged from the mid 50s in southeast Georgia to the lower 60s in northeast Florida.

It will start out sunny with increasing cloudiness as the day progresses, but Gibbs says it should stay dry.

Sunday night will be warmer with lows around 60° and more clouds. Rain will begin late Monday, with a few showers and isolated rumbles of thunder.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be wet and stormy, with occasional rain for everyone in our area. Gibbs says some showers could also be heavy. Today, many parts of the city can expect 1 to 5 inches of rain, and some places may see even more.

By Wednesday, temperatures will rise to near 90 degrees.

Action News Jax’s First Alert Weather Team will continue to monitor the weather forecast and provide you with updates throughout the day.
