Queens police officers are searching for the gunman who killed a man in a parking lot

Detectives in Queens need the public’s help to find the man behind a deadly parking lot attack that left a 76-year-old man dead last month.

The NYPD released images Friday evening of the suspect wanted in the attack, which occurred around 3:30 p.m. on April 5 in the area of ​​167th Street and Hillside Avenue in Jamaica.

According to police, the suspect drove up in a four-door sedan, then got out of the vehicle and confronted the victim, 76-year-old Muhammad Hossain, who lived six blocks away on 173rd Street. The two men got into an argument over a parking space, sources familiar with the case said.

Moments later, the words turned violent, authorities said, as the gunman struck Hossain, knocking him to the ground. The fall caused Hossain to hit his head on the pavement and subsequently lose consciousness, law enforcement sources said.

After the attack, police reported, the perpetrator returned to the black four-door sedan, which then sped east down Hillside Avenue.

The incident was reported to the 107th District. Paramedics rushed Hossain, who suffered head trauma, to Jamaica Hospital in a critical condition. Police said the man died three days later, and investigators subsequently ruled his death a homicide.

As seen in images provided by police, the suspect was wearing a black hoodie and jacket, as well as a black face mask, gray pants and white sneakers.
