Woman claims man tried to sexually assault her in tire shop; 1 person arrested, CMPD says – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE – An arrest has been made after a woman told police a man tried to sexually assault her at a Charlotte tire shop.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Monday they were called to Monroe Road near Briar Creek Road. A police report indicates the building they were called to is the Mr. Tire Auto Service Center.

According to authorities, a person called police and said an unknown man came into the bathroom while she was in it and tried to sexually assault her.

Investigators quickly managed to identify the suspect as 30-year-old Eleno Cervantes.

Cervantes was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree rape, sexual assault, first-degree kidnapping and assault on a female. He is being held without bail in the Mecklenburg County Jail.

No further information has been released.
