Hampton police are searching for a suspect in connection with Thursday night’s shooting

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) – The Hampton Police Department is asking for help identifying the suspect(s) in connection with a shooting Thursday evening.

According to officials, on Thursday, May 9, at approximately 11:07 p.m., Hampton Roads Public Safety Communications received a call regarding a walk-in gunshot victim at Sentara Careplex. According to police, the victim, an adult male, was found to be suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.


An investigation revealed that the victim was struck by gunfire while walking at an unknown location on West Mercury Boulevard.

Officers are still working to determine the motive and circumstances of the incident.
