Man arrested after attacking manager and fleeing from police in College Station | Texas

College Station, Texas – A man was arrested after allegedly assaulting a manager at HEB Jones Crossing and fleeing with unpaid merchandise, according to College Station police.

Officers responded to the incident just before 7 p.m. after several citizens called 911 to report the suspect’s whereabouts as he fled the scene. The suspect, identified as Christopher Jason Edwards of College Station, was found at a nearby restaurant. After a brief struggle, Edwards was taken into custody.

Edwards was charged with robbery, evading arrest or custody, assault on a public servant (police officer) and resisting arrest, College Station police said. Police thanked callers who led officers to Edwards’ whereabouts.
