Police launch death investigation after missing KC man found dead Saturday

After a missing Kansas City man was found dead on Saturday, police are launching an investigation into the death.

Brice Gabbert, 45, was found dead near Gladstone Boulevard and North Brighton Avenue, police said after he was reported missing in a news release Friday.

In the press release, Kansas City police said Brice was last seen on July 12 around 2 p.m. near Independence and Prospect Avenues while walking home from work. His family is concerned for his safety and well-being.

Police have asked anyone with information on his whereabouts to immediately call 911 or the KCPD Missing Persons Unit at 816-234-5043.

Captain Jake Becchina, a KCPD spokesman, said there appeared to be no evidence of a crime.

“The coroner will make the final determination as to the cause and manner of death,” he said.
