Woman sexually harassed on bus in Whitby – police release CCTV footage

The man the police want to speak to

Police want to speak to this man after a woman was sexually assaulted on a bus in Whitby.

It happened on the Arriva X4 bus leaving Whitby bus station at 2.45 p.m. At Monday, June 3.

A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “A woman was sexually touched by another passenger on the bus as it travelled towards Loftus before the suspect exited the bus.”

The overall picture

“Today we are releasing a surveillance image of a man wearing a distinctive T-shirt who we would like to track down.

“We would like to speak to a man seen on CCTV wearing a conspicuous top (see image) as we believe he may have information that could assist the investigation.”

They also released a description of the suspect, who

  • an Asian man
  • Late 20s or early 30s
  • of slim stature
  • wears blue sweatpants
  • and a dark top
  • carry a tennis racket in a bag.
