Investigations underway after two consecutive shootings in New Haven – NBC Connecticut

Investigators are seeking information in connection with two non-fatal shootings in New Haven on Sunday.

New Haven police said officers responded to a reported shooting on Quinnipiac Avenue shortly before 12:45 a.m. Sunday.

Shortly thereafter, a shooting victim was admitted to Yale-New Haven Hospital without an appointment, police said.

According to police, the victim, a 47-year-old New Haven man, suffered multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds in the shooting.

Less than three hours later, officers were dispatched to a second shooting victim at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

This victim, a 34-year-old man from New Haven, also suffered numerous gunshot wounds that were not life-threatening, police said.

Investigators later linked the shooting to ballistics evidence found in the area of ​​Willow Street and Mitchell Drive.

Police said there was “no apparent connection” between the two shootings that night, which occurred just over a week after seven people were shot in a series of consecutive shootings in New Haven.
