Alex Shelley gives “spoiler alert” about his future

Alex Shelley issues a spoiler alert regarding his future.

The Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) have been free agents since their TNA contracts expired in April. They have been linked to WWE and AEW, and WWE has increasingly become the frontrunner.

At the West Coast Pro event on July 20, Shelley appeared to address the rumors, saying, “Spoiler alert, I may not be coming back here.” Shelley told the crowd he knew the future of pro wrestling was secure and thanked the fans.

Sean Ross Sapp from Combative wrote that many in wrestling believe the Motor City Machine Guns are moving to WWE. Sapp noted that many people on the independents acted as if Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin were calling it quits, but they were still taking bookings.

Dave Meltzer also spoke about the situation this week Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He wrote that Shelley and Sabin are expected to join WWE. (H/t Josh Nason of F4WOnline.com)

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin have been announced for AIW’s Against The World event on August 1st.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
